I need to remove ceramic tile from the floor, and I don't need to preserve it. The subfloor is concrete downstairs and presumably plywood upstairs. I was wondering if I could use one of the tools I already have, or if I need to buy/rent a hammer drill. The tools I have that might work are a DeWalt oscillating multitool and a DeWalt reciprocating saw. I also have a regular hammer drill, but I understand that won't work because it's rotary.

Agree that the oscillating tool would be a waste of time. This blade in your sawzall would be a good start.
