Hi dudes, repairman installed a piercing valve on factory line of my refrigerator to measure pressure of R134 last year. Can I use the same piercing valve to add refrigerant to the fridge? Please see attached photo.
Thanks!
If your frig needs refrigerant, it is a leak from the tap valves or evaporator. Most frig's today use 4 - 6 ounces! It must be measured with a digital scale and not by pressures. If the evaporator is leaking, trash the frig. If it's the tap valves, do as suggested Supers05, solder in a Schrader valve, evacuate and add charge per nameplate with a scale.
