Question about joist hangers and Simpson screws

I have never seen joist hangers that need more than 1 1/2" hanger nails, I have never used screws but can't imagine why you would need more length, the floor will stop any pull out and more length does not add to the shear strength of the screw. And it is a shed, whos looking that close.
