I am doing some repiping on a bathroom and I wanted to change the supply shut off valves. Since I am running PEX, I was considering using copper stub outs until I saw a video on Youtube where a contractor claims most stub outs today are made of recycled copper and have a lifespan of around 8 years. He suggested PEX instead. Any thoughts on that?

Aside from possible flaky information if you support your pex at your framing behind the wall, it will be fine, especially if all the rest of your stuff is PEX. Transitioning from Pex to Copper, will require special fittings or sweating or even Shark Bite. I like to crimp it and keep moving
