My wife and I are debating the order of re-painting a room (with trim already attached). She wants to tackle the walls and ceiling first then do the trim after. Googling this resulted in a recommendation to do the trim first then the walls/ceiling. Even with the walls vs ceiling, I'm not sure what the order should be between those...
My wife said that ideally trim should be painted first if it's detached and installed after the walls are painted but in this case it's different. She works as an admin assistant at a remodeling company so in her limited interactions with the painters, this is what she has learned. I guess when they remodel though they nearly always change the baseboards out or something...
We were also having trouble figuring out the best way to tape the baseboards off if painting the walls. I had to caulk some cracks and the caulk lines aren't all even and uniform.
Also, FWIW, I am planning to use a Wagner electric sprayer to spray the primer and paint on...hopefully it's not too much of a mess!
