Near my well's pit-less adapter, there's a T where water either goes to the house, or to the back of the property to a frost-proof hydrant that was added at some point.
Over the summer, I accidentally exposed some very shallow-run 1" polyethylene pipe running to that hydrant when digging a ravine/ditch front to back of property.
Really don't want to dig out the T at the well casing, and would rather sever the 1" at the ravine/ditch and cap it off for the winter, but unsure how? Thread large bolt and heat, then worm clamp? Plan to move the hydrant pump to the spot where I'd like to cap it off, so trying to keep that in mind.
