Sorry but I'm not a plumber and have NO experience with this.
I have an Ikea Godmorgon sink/cabinet. It clogged the other day and I tried to clear it. Usually it will drain after some hot water and baking soda, if not then a good plunge. All I got was a lot of black water and greasy gunk coming up.
I took it apart and couldn't find a clog. There's the top portion (white) that is all clear. I even took the black plastic piping off the wall (trap area) and ran water through it, it seems clear. Then I took my flexible drain snake (one of those 2 foot long plastic things with notches on it) and drove it through the pipe on the wall, past the point where it turns downward, and pulled in and out, seems clear. There was a lot of gunk built up there, I chipped it all off and cleaned it, but not enough to stop water.
Now the water seems to kind of flow, however it builds up in the sink after 10 seconds. Then it will drain slowly.
Is there a clog somewhere I'm not seeing? Is it a design flaw? When I look at other piping it seems like the trap is a U shape, mine is an S shape, is that the problem? I have the same sink system in another bathroom. I get some clogging but it's able to clear and works. Just an fyi, that sink does not share a wall or any pipes near the sink(s). Looking at the pipes, it's not an S, just a simple U....
Do I need to have a plumber come and snake the pipes way down the line? Or is there another solution? Here's a photo of it:
Thanks!
