OK, I used to really love it that I live 2 miles from my local Lowes. But no more. About half the times I go there to get something I got from them several times in the recent past, THEY DON'T HAVE IT. And it is not "pandemic out of stock", more like they just quit stocking them. I wish I was closer to Home Depot or a big Ace store. In this case a 1/2" NPT garden hose adapter. Ordered on Amazon, will be here tomorrow. Why do I leave my house, waste a half gallon of gas and a half hour of my time going to Lowes? I need to just stop.

Lowes does have store inventory available online, also shopping lists you can print with the aisle number, bin number etc.
It is very helpful if you send your wife. She can hand one of the "helpful" employees who follow her around to pick all of it for her.
But they can probably screw that up as well.
The only advice you can rely on in a big box store is where the bathrooms are located.
