Has anyone used Lowe’s truck delivery option. ?
I haven’t been able to get any answers from the delivery desk.

I called their customer service line and they said I on the schedule to receive the delivery tomorrow. Nobody confirmed with me or even contacted me after I placed the order online
I am getting 75 sheets of drywall delivered.
Does the drive help you load it ? or just dump it off the truck in the driveway?

I don't know for sure, but I suspect the dump and run option is what you will get.

Now, a lumber yard can probably match the price, mine is always less, and they deliver and help you unload. Often you can pull a window and slide it right off of their extended forks.

75 sheets, I'll assume 8' x 1/2". Always good to use longest drywall when it can reduce the taping.

Sorry no real answer for you on Lowe's.

Bud

Most big box deliveries I experience will be on a given day between 8 and 4. They won't get any more specific than that. That is why I pick up my own. It also allows me to pick materials out rather than allowing some doofus to pick it for me and I wind up with crap.

Now when I bought my whole house generator on Saturday, they told me it would be out the next day. I politely reminded them tomorrow was Sunday. Yep, delivered on Sunday, and the driver even called ahead of time. I was impressed.

Re: Lowe’s truck delivery service ?

Never seen a 10' sheet of drywall. How would you get it to land on studs set at 16" or 24" oc???
They are pretty handy when the room is between 8 and 10 ft.:biggrin2:

10s would land on 24" and how often does a wall start on layout on the inside.

Re: Lowe’s truck delivery service ?

Neal, maybe a few, but 75 sheets, that's a lot of 8 x 10 rooms.

I'll wait for the op to clarify.

Bud
Yeah but the box stores don't carry all the lengths so if you are doing a 16 ft room, does it matter if you start with a 10 or 12. So I would be counting but joints, if I can get the same number of but joints and use shorter pieces that are easier to handle I would be all over it.

It’s an old house so everything is framed 2’ center. It’s nice because you can turn the drywall 180• if needed.

Lowe’s never called and I never set a pick up date. Even after requesting a call from their customer service line.
Driver called me 30 Mins ahead and said he only does curb side drop off.
No hand unloading.

I think this is different for appliances.

A bunch of the sheets were jacked up from forklift marks but I think they gave me an extra sheet or just a mistake by them.

If you have a large load be sure YOU make the po By of contacting them to arrange delivery time.

Every Lowe's is different - yes, it evidently matters which "store" they're delivering from.
Example - washer and dryer ordered simultaneous. One came from Savannah, GA, one from Beaufort, SC. Each pair of gents had a grand time criticizing something about the other. The first guys said they were best because they hauled both old units, gave a delivery window and arrived early to beat the heat. Second pair said the first guys were lazy because they didn't pre-set the stacking unit, didn't balance the washer, and didn't stop to hook up the water. Both were kind, courteous and worked quickly, so both got a tip.
I've gotten mulch delivered by a Lowe's guy that almost drove into the power line, didn't offer to help unload or take the pallet, and actually didn't get off his forklift to interact with me before dropping the load and after gouging my front lawn. No tip lol.

Lowe’s “red carpet” appliance delivery is much different than the basic truck delivery

Red carpet is next day, bring appliance ionize and do fheir best to hook it up.

Truck delivery option. They fork the $hit off the truck, drop it at the curb and run.
