My washing machine is leaking. I checked the drain plug and it didn't seem clogged but after I took the hose off water came out the drain and when I tipped the washer backwards water flowed out the drain hole where the hose goes. I then took the front of the washer and started a cycle. Water appeared to leak from the tub. Any ideas?

Am I better off just to get a new washer? It's only 2 years old. Before the water leak happened I was having trouble with it shaking during the rinse and clothes were getting knotted under the agitator and under the agitator wings.

Here's a link to a video showing the leak: https://youtu.be/j9RMjSjtOW0

Thank you,

Video is pretty short. Water seems to be leaking under the center of the tub. If so, it's probably the tub main seal. The part is not expensive. But there is some labor involved to change it. Cheaper to fix than to buy a new washer. Shaking happens if it's not level or clothes aren't evenly distributed or a dampening strap is broken......all easy to check.

Who is the manufacturer? If you have the tools (wrenches, screw drivers), and some DIY skills you should be able to fix it yourself. There are videos that show you how step-by-step. The only tool that you probably won't have but will need is a spanner wrench......not a lot of $ but this is the only job you will ever use it for.
