We just got a full suite of KitchenAid appliances. The hired installers could not set the microwave on delivery day due to opening being slightly too small. General contractor finished the install later. My question relates to the 6 speed motor for Hood venting functionality. The microwave sits normally above the cooktop venting out through the upper cabinets. It feels to me like the vent does not take up steam when cooking / boiling on the cooktop. I can run the vent fan on high and the steam still makes the front of the microwave look like it is sitting in a sauna. This does not feel normal to me. It feels like it should be sucking more moisture through the two vents on the bottom of the microwave. Or maybe it is strictly due to the fact I am boiling on the front burners of the cooktop so steam will naturally coat the front of the microwave. However, with such a robust vent motor, I would expect more steam to be sucked to the back of the cooktop and up through the venting. Can someone familiar with the anatomy / functionality of a new microwave tell me if I am expecting too much? Thanks in advance.
