Something is up with my kinetico water softener system. It seems like sometimes the water tastes very salty. I believe this is happening during the regeneration, but could be wrong.

I took the system apart a few months ago because there was a slight clog in the outlet that was preventing the system from sucking any brine solution in (therefore my water was awful!). Fixed that, but now get a very salty taste.

Any thoughts? Thanks

In other words, throughout the entire backwash process there should be water exiting?

Yes, especially after it pulls in the brine.

Thanks for your reply. Just want to understand the logic. The first part of the cycle (BRINE/RINSE) draws in the brine... does it sit in the tank until the backwash cycle begins?

If something is screwed up with the backwash cycle, the brine solution never gets to exit the tank and therefore ends up in your water system? Is that correct?
