Is there a sump pump stand for the basement?

Yes, they do make stands for sump pumps. Just google sump pump stands. Some box/hardware stores carry them. I'm sure you can find them on amazon and other third party sites as well. Or you can just make/modify one of your own to stabilize it better.

Usually those submersible types just sit in a bed of gravel and the drain pipe helps it stay in place. I've never had any problem with them needing a stand or tipping over.

I'm not really sure how yours is set up judging by the picture. If it's just sitting on that little block of wood over that pit that doesn't even cover the entire base of it, no wonder it keeps tipping over. Use a larger/wider piece of wood as a base for better stability.

Where it's located now, is that the bottom of the pit or does it go down in the smaller hole pit??

I see what appears to be a float at the bottom of the smaller hole pit. So this must be some type of pedestal sump pump??
