HVAC drain pipes in crawlspace

So I am looking for some expertise and advice on a HVAC drain pipe for my house. I am in a 3 year old home, and when they built it, it had the standard drain pipes (3 of them) that went from the unit in the garage, under the crawl space and to the outside of the home. We live in a high humidity area, and it would drip out quite a bit of water so we asked the builders if there was a way to put in a french drain or something else outside the home to help prevent the puddling that was occurring by our dog door (which equals a mess!). They ended up pulling the pipes completely from the outside, and instead rerouted them in the crawlspace and now drain them directly into the drain pipes that run under the house (reference the picture, and it won't post normally so rotate it with the plastic on the ground). Since from everything I have read/heard, this isn't common, and I was wondering if anyone else who has any experience in this area might have some input such as agree or disagree with this technique. Since this all occurs in the crawlspace where I never go, I would hate for a problem to develop and not notice. Thanks for any inputs.

I would stick a check valve on that drain line to eliminate any possibility of a backup through it. I would also place a pan underneath that trap and throw a high water alarm into the pan. If the trap ever plugs up it'll back flow into the pan and set the alarm off.

We have a central alarm system and all our high water alarms (3 of them) are hooked into the main system so we get promptly notified if they ever go off.
