This is an 8 foot wide asphalt drive on gravel/rock, but it is elevated about 6 inches off the red clay soil here in Oregon. It seems to have a crown in the middle and slopes to about 2 inches of asphalt at the edge.
Not in bad shape, overall, but big trucks are not as careful as we, keeping to the middle of the drive. I am too inept to post a picture. Driveway could be 20 years old, we are second owners.
Guess I could find a licensed contractor to cut off the bad edges, lay out a treated wood form, put down rock and new hot asphalt. Should this be rolled or use a vibrating tamper? Forms to stay in the ground.
Could I have the above procedure done using dyed concrete? And later on use a black seal coat?
Are precast blocks of concrete, plastic or fiberglass along the edge a possible solution? :whistling2: Cold concrete patch with forms ?
I did a search back 6 pages and did not find anything specific to my problem. Thank you.....
