I am putting up new side porch lights and trying to figure out my best option to have the light sit flush against the wood siding. The mourning house is 4.5” while the flat section of the siding is just 3.5”. What are my options?

Mounting devices and fixtures on siding is easy with our expansive line of siding mounting blocks for T-111, HardiePlank®, lap siding, flat surfaces, and more.
You don't necessarily need to buy a mounting block, you just need a piece of wood that is bigger than your light fixture, and thicker than your siding, and the right depth for a box. Cut out the siding for your block, (leave the sheathing) drill a hole in your mounting block, install your mounting block, then install your box and light.
