Hey,

I have a regular level and I want to slope my deck for rainfall/water/snow.

Looking at a bubble level. How do I know how much the bubble should be from dead center?
Deck is 16' long.

I have the iPhone level but it's only showing level in degrees. I have no idea how to convert that to inches.

I was told 1/16 to 1/8 slope is suffient. But how do I calculate that?

My brain hurts but thank you!! Lol
I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up using azek grooved composite with the hidden fasteners.

I'm pretty sure that has a large enough gap. So hopefully I don't need to slope the deck.

I bought a 24" digital level. (They didn't have a 48" in stock) cheap
Husky brand level.

I put the level on each joist and ledger board. I was getting readings at 0.00 to 0.03 off. I only had one joist at .03 off and I'll fix that one.

It's pouring here so I couldn't do the other methods suggested but do you think .01-.02 off on a 16' deck joist is an acceptable margin of error? Whether with a slope or going for a complete level?

Thanks again guys !!
