Has anyone actually use these screws to do their framing of garage or house? I read that decking screws just don't have shear strength but these GRK R4 screws does have shear strength. Checking prices at HD these are 95.00 450 count, which I figure I will need about 400.00 worth to do the exterior walls. The benefit of using these screws I believe will help with speed of framing walls plus add strength also. Framing the walls and then standing them up and bracing and anchoring will be time consuming for this one man show and being 2 1/2 hr drive each way.
So question, are these right screws and work as they claim? Are does using screws for framing ext walls sound foolish?
