I have a 2 yr old Samsung model #wf328aaw front loader washing machine. I maintain our washing machine monthly by cleaning the trays, using Affresh tablets, wiping the door deal and draining the water from the debris filter. I also run SilverCare once in a while when there is no clothes in the washer. During a wash we get a horrible, foul smell that goes away when the wash is done.

What causes it and what else can we do to completely eliminate this?

Is it from the washing machine itself or from the drain? You seem to be doing everything right about regular maintenance of a front-load washing machine in regards to the seal, etc.

ie: When does the smell start? IF it is during the drain cycle, it is most likely coming from the in-wall drain.

You mentioned checking the filter -- have you taken the assembly apart to make sure there isn't something larger in there? Baby/toddler socks are a PRIME culprit!

How can i check the in wall drain? The smell is so foul i can smell it in another room 30 ft away. The filter is just a small rubber tube that I drain the water out of. That water smells horrible i might add.
