Looking for suggestions. I'm trying to cover up the space around my house bib, and I'm looking for a flange meant for outdoor use, but I can't seem to find any at the big box stores. Did I miss them? The HD guy recommended I use one of the mental indoor ones, but they are shiny chrome and I am not sure how they will pick up paint.
Any recommendations on how I should do this? I know some of the hose bibs have a built in flange, but they count on the threading more less flush to surface, which is not my case (the current one sticks out about half inch). I want to prevent unwelcome visitors (on the shadowed side, there is about 1/4 inch or more of gap between insulation and pipe). I do plan to replace all the hose bibs, since they are fairly old and some leak when opened.
The builder just had insulation that reach out and covered over the hose bib (you can still see the leftover in the wall), but obviously that wasn't going to last.
