Hello, I have an existing hole for the dryer vent in my basement that is roughly 4" in diameter. There is a vent installed which is 3" pipe.
When I bought the house it was this way, the owners had 4" metal ducting going to a 4" to 3" reducer elbow to connect out.
I am looking to enlarge the hole there to allow for a 4" pipe and a little room to insulate around it. I am wondering if there is any DIY method where I might be able to enlarge this affordably and safely? I read somewhere about using a concrete file to enlarge, not sure how feasible that would be for something like this.
