Drawer slide latch won’t grasp - loose/no spring tension

Hi. The left rail keeps coming off the drawer so removed it and noticed the latch has lost most of its tension, so sort of won’t “grasp” the slide rail.

i tried removing that visible screw but then didn’t know what to do and didn’t want to damage any further ☺

can this be repaired or do I have to replace the whole thing? Looks like the brand is Berta 533.

I have never seen that before but I do see differences from one side to the other.
Good catch.
Particularly the adjustment at the top of the photo (closest to the front of the drawer) --- first, that can't possibly be right, and second, could be that one of them being at the extreme position is keeping it from being latched properly.

It could be that one side of the drawer is maybe a 32nd of an inch different from one side to the other, but when when side is adjusted all the way in one direction and the other side is adjusted all the way in the other direction --- it's just not right.

Thanks all. Good catches on the positioning of those white parts! Didn’t even catch that.

but that’s not the issue - it was that the tension was lost on the broken latch side. I couldn’t do it the first time but just tried again and was able to remove the blue “handle” to discover the piece is cracked. That’s why there was no tension!

argh - probably now just have to pay for an entire new set to fix. Maybe I’ll try to super glue it and see if it works first.
