I installed a prehung door last week and it was plumb, square and the door closed fine. Fast forward to now, one of the door jambs bowed inwards a bit near the top, enough for the door to rub on it. It really bugs me on a brand new door, so I'm looking to fix it but not sure what is the best approach. I want to avoid messing with it too much with failed attempts.
Here's what comes to mind...
1. Drive another screw (or more) into the bowed part of the jamb in the hopes of straightening it. The problem is that the door casing is already nailed in several places in the door jamb and frame, so I think that might prevent the door jamb from moving at all despite the additional screw(s).
2. Adjust the hinges to pull the door closer to the hinge side.
3. Sand down the door where it's rubbing the frame.
4. Any other ideas?
