It will be just fine for your bedroom. They aren't the most efficient but they cool the room.
They do create a negative pressure allowing air to be sucked in through any available opening.
The bigger the unit, the more air infiltrates in. That being said, window air conditioners use outside air for the condensing so they don't take any air out of the room.
They just recycle the indoor air. Some of them will allow fresh air in as well.....may be beneficial for a bit of odor control.
Is there a reason you don't want a window unit, other than the obvious?
Meaning they block the view, tie up a window, and always drip?
I don’t want a window unit because it won’t fit.
