Craftsman 33 Gallon 6hp Compressor Issue

I haven’t used this compressor in the video for about a year and a half. The last time I used it I paint sprayed a room and it ran fine. I just started it and something is definitely wrong. It turns on but does not sound right at all and is not adding air to the tank. Any ideas on what isn’t working or how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks

If it seems to be freewheeling, then it may have a broken crank. It's easy to pull apart and see. Warning. Buying parts will be more expensive than replacing the compressor.

Be aware using Tapatalk creates several posts as you can see from the new posts. Problem hasn't been resolved yet.

I now see the pic. Oil-free compressors arent known for durability. If its not a quick fix, it is likely cheaper to replace.

I also caution, that isn't a 6hp machine; perhaps 1hp if it runs on a 120v receptacle. Similar to those Shop Vacs claiming ridiculous HP. I forget the creative advertising quirk that allows this.

Well, this one has run great for 22 years. I bought a smaller compressor for nailing. I use this one for spray painting. If I can’t repair it maybe I’ll get a compressor more appropriate for spraying.

22 years is a good long haul for an oil-free. If its kaput, you got your money's worth. (y)

Edit: the relief valve is the little pull ring under the pressure switch. Make sure its staying closed and not whooshing air.

Yeah, after 22 years I’m pretty familiar with the release valve and those two clocky doohickey things. [emoji38]
I’m probably going to take the video to a repair shop, let them listen to it and see what they have to say.

I would check to be sure the unloader that lets the pump start without pushing against a head is working or if air is escaping from anywhere else. If nothing simple is discovered I would consider it to be shot and I would take it apart to see why. Maybe something simple inside is stuck, like a reed valve. Maybe the pieces will go to the scrap heap. At 22 years, it is at the end of its life anyway.
