Our house was broken into and the carpet is trashed. We will be installing laminate flooring in it's place. The carpet being replaced is in our living room and it extends into our master bedroom. The laminate will stop at the entrance to our bedroom and the bedroom will remain carpeted. I know I will need to add an endcap for the transition from laminate to carpet but how far back do I need to cut the carpet at the door? What do I need to do to keep the carpet secured at the door? Will I need to staple or add a tack strip?
