Dryer started making this awful sound. It subsides when I lift up one corner, but still has some vibration. Squeaks even when empty, so doesn't matter what size load is in it. It's almost like the cabinet is out of square and it's just an annoying rub. Adjusting the foot height does not work to kill the noise like lifting it with my hand does. Most importantly, I want to make sure it is safe to continue running until I can troubleshoot or shop for a new one. Does not have a burning smell or any other major red flags. Many thanks for your help.

Your Samsung dryer likely has worn drum rollers, a faulty idler pulley, or a misaligned panel. Since lifting a corner reduces the noise, it could be a cabinet vibration issue. It’s probably safe to run if there's no burning smell, but check for worsening noise or heat. Try pressing on different parts of the cabinet while running to pinpoint the source.
Thank you! It has actually gotten a bit better, but something tells me that's temporary.

The construction of driers really isn't all that complicated. There are bunch of metal panels held together by a bunch of machine screws, all in a structure that is vibrating. Are you sure the noise is coming from the machine and not that pedestal? Could it be movement of pedestal on the floor or the machine on the pedestal? After I determined it was from the machine itself, I would pull it out and start checking for loose screws or, once inside, loose components. It could well be a belt or pulley or idler, but they are usually easily replaceable. Certainly not something to be replacing the machine over.
It's definitely not the pedestal. That thing is built with 4x4's and 3/4" plywood by yours truly and could support an elephant. I will crack open the dryer when I find some time and inspect for loose parts and friction points. I appreciate the guidance.
