Hi,
I'm removing an old shower installation and am now left with a couple of pvc drain pipes that lead to a small submersive pump that sits in the picture sump hole. I think the floor is only 3" thick but I don't have to break through all of it.
I don't have a lot of tools and am wondering how to break up enough of the floor so that I can cut the 2 pvc pipes sticking up. I just want to cut them so that they're an inch or so below the basement floor in order to pave over it with cement. "I just want to make them disappear." Happy to abandon it.
I've tried the chisel and sledge hammer (18") and didn't get far. I don't have a sledge hammer. I do have a sawzaw - can I get a blade for that can cut and break up contract? Can I use a drill somehow? Is there a way to disolve the PVC ? (Also - I cannot grind at the concrete because of the duststorm it would cause.)
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Andy
