I need to run some new wiring and plumbing up into the 1st story walls from basement. Is the best way to do this to cut holes in the drywall near the floor upstairs and drill down from there to see where hole is below? What would be best way to make sure I'm not going to go into a joist or am too close to poured concrete foundation? I can't really tell where interior of wall would be from looking up when in basement.
