Can anyone help me with - what is the difference between an Armstrong and Concord HVAC

Thank you

Nancy
You should start your own thread.

Armstrong is a clone of the lennox elite and signature series, depending on model. Not at all low end, I wouldn't hesitate to buy.

Concord is a clone of the lennox merit series - entry level stuff.

Low end models? I bet your a owner of company that has to sell 400000$ worth of equipment a year to keep other competitors 40 miles away. The Tranes and Carriers don’t heat your house any better than the Concord, other than they have a few more sensors for you to replace every year. Warranties are the same. Hvac companies don’t put their so called techs on the job, they send out salesman!
I'm not a residential tech or salesman.
The information in your post is wrong and you've done no favors posting it as well as digging up an old thread.

fiy Mainstream line furnaces of same feature class don't have "more sensors for you to replace every year" compared to builder's.

There are major technical differences between builder's and mainstream stuff when you start looking at 2-stage furnaces which impact how they heat - comfort, noise levels, airflow. When you look at basic single stage there aren't as great differences. The equipment is actually a fraction of the total cost (labor, overhead, taxes, extra materials make up the lion's share of the cost) and if have you have a good honest contractor the better mainstream equipment doesn't cost much more for the same feature class.
If the contractor is charging well over $1000 more for a concord than armstrong of same feature class, find another.

Having a old thread pop up thinking it is new can be annoying.

Furnace manufacturer does matter due to size increments, blower capacities and blower speed adjustments/options, heat stage control to get the best fit for the application. But the best fit on the market for a certain home can be complete crap in a bad installer's hands.
A major problem is a company only selling one make of furnace - no single make produces a furnace that's ideal for every home and duct system - product lines always have gaps.
