hello. Brand new to this website. Need some opinions expertise. Have a almost 1 yr house build question. Have aluminum trim on soffits that are all wavy in the summer and by winter it goes away(mostly , still there alittle bit). Had the warranty people out and they claim it’s the wood under neath moving. I think it was a bad siding trim job. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hung siding for over 40 years. Like the others said, it’s caused by the aluminum expanding and contracting. where it’s really rippled it looks like they pushed up on it too hard while nailing. If aluminum trim is installed in cold weather, it’s going to ripple even more when the summer rolls around. 10’ length is very common, my brake is 10 1/2’. More bends makes it more ridged, but what you see here is probably the most common installation, one bend. This job is overly sloppy and could have been done better by someone who knows what they’re doing.
