I am making some changes to a kitchen wall during the reno that has me moving things down 9" which in turn is requiring that I move
the refrigerator water line. From that water line, I intend to add a line to feed the pot filler, provided this isn't against code though I can't
imagine why it would be.
So, a few questions.
A) Every stud I pass through, it should have a metal plate to protect it from nail/screw intrusion? I ask because I can see the builder didn't use
these plates on every stud a Romex wire or PEX passes through.
B) PEX and Romex can pass through the same stud?
C) The pipe that is threaded into the water line (head?) inside the wall can only protrude 1/2", are these cut to length or made in this length?
The pot filler didn't come supplied with it.
D) Would you foresee any issue with me putting 2x4 behind the water line head anchored to the adjoining vertical studs so the water line head
is secured well enough to support the weight of the pot filler? I want to avoid drilling the 1/4" holes through the tile. The flange would then just stay
in place due to compression when I thread on and tighten the pot filler. It won't have the four 1/4" screws for support.
Thanks in advance!
