Good morning everyone, I have a 6/3 NMWU wire I like to hook up from my main panel to the sub panel. The wire goes through my crawl space 50 feet not buried then into a pvc pipe 2 feet underground 20 feet then to my sub panel. I have a plasma cutter that operates 44 amp 230v single phase and a compressor 15am 120v nothing else. I know the 6/3 wire is good for 55 am but I can’t find that breaker for my main panel. I was wondering if it’s ok for me to put a 60 amp breaker at my main to feed the wire. I have a 100 amp breaker at my sub panel and 50 amp breaker for my plasma cutter and 15 amp for the compressor. The total length is 70 feet wire. Thanks everyone

The breaker size is to protect the wire, NO use a 50 amp breaker
A bigger problem is you do not have enough wires for the sub panel.
You need 4 wires, hot, hot, neutral and ground
The cable you stated will not be correct for current codes.
What I know about plasma you need a lot bigger panel and circuit as the the plasma and compressor run full tilt until you stop cutting.
