Good Morning, new to the forum. I am going to be embarking on a self built home and I am sure to become a frequent participant of the forum!

My first question on my drawing it looks like the beam is Qty:4 - 3 ply 2x10 beams all butt jointed over the post...am i reading this correctly, or will the joints be staggered.

From the readings I can find in Canada, they prefer the joints be over the post, so this seems correct. The spans are not over 10'...it seem to simple to be true?! Oh the house dimensions is 24' x 40'.

Dan, the Beam detail is on another page, and it two Lags through bottom of post plate into beam.
