Question for any gearheads.
I have a 2016 F150 w/ the 3.5 Ecoboost engine.
About one year ago, the driver side turbo went out. Got it repaired. The dealer (no local shops will work on the 3.5 eco with turbos) noted that the front cover was leaking oil - which is apparently an extremely common issue and extremely expensive to fix. At that time they said, other than dripping a little oil, there was no concern.
Fast forward to now. Same issue that was noted last year. Took it to dealer. BOTH turbos need replaced, along with the CAC as it is full of oil.
The dealer claims that the turbos and CAC need replaced because the front cover is weeping oil. The connection between the front cover and oil in CAC/turbos is not clear to me.
They also stated that the oil pan needs replaced. This really stands out as odd...
Any insight? How in the world is the oil from the front cover making it's way to the turbos (both!) and CAC.
Their quote to fix the vehicle is over $11,000.
