I have a gas pipe in the wall I need to move for my new oven. I have the drywall off and the 90 I need to remove is STUCK:eek:. I was thinking I could cut the fitting off, does that seem ok?

Bondo, I will not cut down to the threads, I will break the final layer.

The house was built in 1972 and the fitting has a brown colored sealer. I have had pipe wrenches on and it won't budge. My thought was to take my 4 1/2 in cutoff wheel and cut shallow then break the 90.

I've used larger pipe wrenches. I'm also not a small guy. I'm afraid I may break the pipe if I pull too hard.

I think my two options are:

1. cut the 90 and break the final layer.

2. Use a propane tourch and try a heat the fitting to break down the pipe sealer. I would rather not use this method.
