When I finish entertainment pieces, we always paint the inside of the T.V. section black. It enhances the picture and also hides any wires. Really a very clean look.

 

Are you using a flat black, or something with a little sheen?

 

Movie Theaters will usually paint the back wall a dark color like black.

 

I could see painting a nook black, or the entire wall if the room was dedicated to home theater use, but I personally would not paint an entire wall black if I did things in the room other than watch the TV.

Hey, any one here ever heard of painting a wall for a flat panel tv black? Someone said that it worked well-the tv frame blended into the wall and it looked more like the image was just there on the wall(if that makes sense?)

That would not be unusual for home theater type apps.
