I have a huge crack all the way across the room on my ceiling. Someone said I should try to cut out so I could use present ceiling sheetrock to replace after putting in support joist so the ceiling would match better. Is that a good idea (it certainly is difficult) or should I just tear it out and replace with new after the supports are in?
