14/2 bath vent fan on 20 amp circuit

While replacing a pair of switches in the bathroom of a house I recently purchased, I noticed that 14/2 was attached to 12/2 wire in the switch box.

The bathroom is connected to a 20a breaker, and the 12/2 feeds the bathroom light, one outlet, and the vent fan. Both the 14 and 12 wire look relatively new.

Removing the 14/2 will be a mess, and I think that the vent fan won't pull enough amperage to be a fire hazard. However little things like this bother me and would keep me up. I don't want to replace the breaker with a 15a. Am I ok with one fan on 14/2, or would you replace it?

Calculate the load of all the power tools to obtain exact ampere requirement of circuit breaker. The circuit breaker capacity should be approx 1.5 times the total load used.
That is completely incorrect in this case.

A bathroom, which is what he's talking about, has to be on a 20A circuit. If your "calculated load" is 1A, it has to be on a 20A breaker. Which in turn has to be on 12g conductors.
