We're refinancing our mortgage (hopefully we'll drop a whole percentage point :thumbsup.

We had to get a new appraisal and found out today that the appraiser checked to see if the work she saw in the house had been permitted.

If there had been a problem, it could have cost us our refinancing, literally thousands of dollars a year.

Must be a fluke. I refinanced several houses over the years without that issue ever coming up. But then, I see you live in Easton. So did I for a while. I worked for the defense contractor that's in the old Black & Decker building, the one that keeps changing its name every few months. The shore is a very strange place - I couldn't wait to retire and leave.
