I have a Xpelair DX100t and have until recently had installed on it a red led light which indicates when the device is switched off (necessary due to having a timer on it). As the led has stopped working I want to replace it but do not know what led/resistor I need to buy. As their is all kinds of resistors, can anybody please tell me what I require.

Resistor color code also known as black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, white. Black=0, white=9. First two bands are actual numbers, third band is number of zeros to the right of the first two, fourth band is % tolerance.

To get the proper resistor, we'd need to know the voltage applied to the LED. An LED is basically a short circuit, and needs a resistor in series with it to limit current.

Why don't you replace the LED and use the existing resister?
Usually red indicating LEDs are ~2v forward voltage at 20 mA.

The voltage is 240 and I believe the ampage of the Xpelair is 5.
