Is there something that I can pt up on a deck as railing that doesn't have to be treated? Like what we had were wooden rails that had to be treated every year. Eventually, even with that they got in bad shape. (get's the full sun)
I was thinking even of putting up thick ropes like a dock might have.

they do make vinyl railing/balusters that you can use and they require no maintenance.

their are lots of alturnitives like tubeing or wrought iron, cables just got to find what works for you

Careful what you use for ropes
Some will rot pretty quickly
