I've got a lot of chunked wood that needs to be dragged over uneven rocky and wet land. I'd also like it to have enuf power to tow chunks up a 30% slope, nothing over 70lbs. Def needs 4WD.

I've been thinking about a Kawasaki Mule because a friend uses his for that, but I would like alternate opinions. Don't want some $28K family vacation 2-seater with bluetooth. A bed would be nice but a small trailer would be ok if the vehicle had power.

I know nothing about ATV's and hybrids and such.

A 30% slope is going to be a challenge for safe operation of an ATV/etc. while towing something uphill, since the force applied by the dragged wood will be trying to flip the machine over backwards. Have you considered a winch or some other safer option?

I can recommend a great Canadian made trailer that we use behind our side-by-side UTV for moving wood/etc. on flatter ground. It has the versatility to convert into a log skidder to make dragging logs easier.

I don't know how much land you have but I'd consider a used tractor. I wish mine [1953 NAA] was 4x4 but I've drug a lot of logs over the yrs with it on my mountain property.

I have a Kubota BX24 which is great but has a very narrow wheel base, tippy on even mild slopes. Could possibly get those huge wheel extensions..

I would use a vehicle that is a good land anchor, like an old 4 wheel drive truck or a tractor. Then I would put a winch on it and winch them through the hard spots.
