Wood shim between joist and subfloor plywood

881 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Old Thomas
Ive googled and didnt come up with much. I have a 4ft piece of wood cut from a 2x10, that fits well to correct a section of a joist to shim it level. Its 1/4 thick on one end and tapers to about 1/16th on the other end. If I glued and pre drilled holes for screws, would this hold up in a bathroom?

I can't sister it, there's a water line running alongside, thats why I am looking to do this. Just worried that the shim may crush over time.
Ok thanks, I think I will go the shim route. Seema it would be pretty sturdy with some glue.
