I'm putting in 2x6 supports for an aquarium stand I'm building. I want to stack 2 2x6 boards for each up right so it will be more like a 4 x 6. Dies it matter which direction the grain runs? Facing towards each other, away from each other, or in the same direction?

You do know 2 X's laying flat will have very little strength.

Here are a couple pics. The frame you see on the floor us actually the top. I'm making up rights which will attach to a green treat frame.
