My wife and I are going to be selling our house and the wood floors are pretty dirty and very scratched/dinged up. Our realtor said it's best to just clean them up the best we can.

Any recommendations on how to do this? Some wood floor cleaner/oil and some elbow grease? Is it worth it to have someone come in a professionally clean them?

Thanks

A very common procedure for those selling their home is buffing/recoating the floors as it takes just a few hours, involves very little mess and it's a lot cheaper than sanding the floors. Basically this process involves buffing the floors with a light grit sand paper (usually 220 grit) and then applying a fresh coating. This process will remove surface scuffs and scratches, clean the floors, add protection and revive the shine.
