Your 7/16" OSB will be great underlayment.
Thanks for the reply Mark. I was thinking luan plywood as has been used in the past, but I read that it's use for that has been replaced by underlayment plywood. I went out today and picked up the UP I need to do the floor tomorrow. I'll make use of the OSB in most of my remaining knee wall areas for possible storage. The only issue with OSB is that sometimes the particles are uneven. (especially if they get wet). Most coverings will be safe but avoid Lino on OSB as it will show the uneven spots of OSB. Other than that, you should be fine.
I could not have said it better!!!During installation of wood flooring, the inner quality and installation method are significant. However, problems about paint, glue, underlayer, skirting are ignored. If these seemingly simple accessories are unsafe and unenvironmental-friendly, then they would influence the whole surroundings of the house. If the skirtings and buckles are unfit, the effects are not satisfactory even we have the best wood flooring. Therefore, when should not ignore the accessories and ingredients.
