i'm building a custom shower and have laid pvc shower pan liner down already. i want to pour the sloped bottom floor now and was wondering if versabond fortified thin-set mortar is the right stuff to use?

Not sure what you are asking, but thinset is to be used as its' name says, thin. For a mud bed for a shower use a very dry moratr mix. That's moratr as in between bricks.
