I received a Shinco mini split a/c unit and was looking at the wiring diagram which is for 230v. The diagram shows only three wires from the power supply to the outdoor unit (L1,L2,G). I assume that L1 and L2 are the two hot wires and G is the ground wire but where does the neutral wire go? There are no connections labeled for the neutral on the unit, only the three I mentioned.

A 240 volt appliance would not need a neutral.

A neutral would be used to supply 120 volts.

Some appliances might need both 240 and 120 volts. And in that case they would tell you to also run a neutral.

And BTW, this unit does say "60 cycles"? (Some of these are made for foreign countries which have 50 cycles electricity.)

it is 60hz. What would I do with the neutral wire, just disregard it and leave it disconnected ?

Yes you could leave it disconnected but also put a wire nut on it...so the end can not come in contact with anything.
