I had a workshop build and I want to install an electric sub panel. The subpanel would service a woodlathe that runs on 210 power and then I would want at least 4 additional outlets in the shop to run some smaller power tools that run on 110 power. The sub panel would be about 130 feet from the main power panel. About 60 lt of the power cable that feeds the subpanel would have to be burried under the ground the the other part of the cable would be run through my attic

What size of cable do I need to power the subpanel? What size of circuit breaker do I need to use in the main panel to feed the subpanel and the 7 circuit breakers in the subpanel.

Sounds like you need to hire an electrician. Not to mention depending on your location something like that also would need a permit.

You're new here. Helping people do this sort of project themselves is exactly what we do here. Does he have a lot to learn? Yes, that much is clear. Does he need to hire an electrician? Probably not, if he's willing to put in the effort to learn how to tackle this himself.
